Cooper’s Hidden Dental Pain Uncovered

Cooper’s visit to the clinic started with an eye check, but Vet - Dr Nore De Ridder quickly noticed something else. Behind the scenes, Cooper was suffering from significant dental pain that needed immediate attention.

While checking Cooper’s eyes during a routine consultation, Vet – Dr Nore De Ridder spotted signs of marked gingivitis and moderate tartar build-up. She recommended a dental procedure with possible extractions to address the issue before it worsened.

Cooper was booked in the very next day, beginning with a pre-anaesthetic blood test to ensure he was fit for surgery. Once under anaesthetic, the team discovered that his most caudal upper molars (109 and 209) had severe root exposure and pus, indicating long-standing infection and pain.

With the help of dental X-rays and thorough probing, four more teeth were identified as problematic and removed. After the procedure, Cooper began to recover—and it wasn’t long before he was back to his bright, happy self.
