Katherine Hansen

Katherine joined the Tauranga Vets team in 2015, bringing her extensive Veterinary knowledge to our practice. Her journey in animal care began when she trained at Massey University in 2003, leading to her involvement in mixed Veterinary practices focused on small animals and horses.

With a wealth of experience in New Zealand and England, Katherine’s dedication to excellence is evident in her Equine internship at Cambridge University in England and her specialised training in Dermatology, particularly in small animals.

Outside the clinic, Katherine enjoys the charm of her Te Puna lifestyle block, which she shares with her husband, two children, and a growing menagerie of pets. Among her furry and feathered companions are Zoe, a crossbreed dog, a pair of delightful fluff ball cats they rescued as kittens, a flock of chickens, two very vocal ducks with strong opinions, and a group of ex-Ag day lambs that have made themselves a permanent home.

Max Clout

Max, a dedicated and passionate Veterinarian, began his journey with us as a new graduate in 2016, armed with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from Massey University. His commitment to excellence led him to complete his Masters in Veterinary Medicine with a specialisation in Surgery.

After two years of valuable experience as a mixed Vet, Max embarked on a two-year adventure in the United Kingdom. He returned to our team full-time and occasionally lent his expertise to an emergency after-hours clinic in Auckland.

Max thrives on the diversity that mixed practice offers, relishing farm visits just as much as clinical work. His areas of special interest encompass neurology, emergency medicine, and all aspects of surgery.

Max is an outdoor enthusiast outside the clinic who thrives on friendly competition in various social sports. He also savours a good barbecue with friends and cherishes quality time with his loving family.
