Courtney Norton from our Katikati clinic has been appointed Equine Technologist for Tauranga, Te Puna, Katikati and Papamoa Village Vets.

Courtney completed her Veterinary Technology studies at Massey University in 2017, gaining a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology and tracked Equine in her final year. She has a wealth of experience in the field as well as deep love of equine – starting when she was just a young girl.

“My love for equine started before I can remember,” she says. “I grew up reading only horse books. My teachers told my parents firmly several times I needed to read other genres,” she adds.

Courtney got her first horse when she was 10 years old and has owned one ever since. She currently owns a mare, with whom she competes.

Courtney has been a team member at our Katikati clinic for around almost two years, she will continue her role as a Vet Nurse at the clinic, while also undertaking her new role working along-side Vet and Equine specialist Dr Adrienne Robin.

“Horse people will know once you are involved with horses you cannot stop. They are captivating majestic creatures,” she says.

Courtney says she is looking forward building relationships with our equine clients and their horses and is thrilled to be working with horses on a weekly basis.

“I chose to be with horses in my own time so I cannot imagine anything better than being with them during work time,” she adds.
