Kobe’s Journey: Overcoming a Long-Standing Challenge
Kobe first visited Nina Smith at the Mount Maunganui clinic after his owners became concerned about a large mass on his elbow. Over the past three years, the mass had steadily grown to the point where it started hindering his movement and causing discomfort. Kobe’s family knew it was time to take action.
Following careful consideration of Kobe’s condition—including his heart murmur—Melani at Papamoa Village Vets scheduled surgery for Kobe. Before the procedure, in-house blood testing was performed to ensure Kobe’s overall health and to modify his anaesthetic plan to accommodate his heart murmur.
Thanks to these precautions, the surgery went smoothly. The mass was successfully removed, and Kobe has since made an excellent recovery. He’s back to moving freely and enjoying his walks once again, much to the relief of his loving family.
