Jekyll’s Fresh Start After a Tough Accident
Jekyll first presented to our Tauranga clinic with a painful, swollen ankle joint. Vet Dr Kate Millar organised X-rays, which confirmed his ankle was dislocated. The team talked through the different treatment options with his family, and together they decided that amputation would give Jekyll the best chance at a comfortable, active life.
The very next day, Jekyll came through to our Mount Maunganui clinic for surgery. His procedure went smoothly with Vet Dr Dana Perry and Vet Dr Kate Millar, and he surprised everyone by getting up and moving around on three legs just a few hours later. After a sleepover at the clinic for monitoring and support, Jekyll was able to head home to recover fully with his family.
