Bella’s Growing Lump – Caught Early and Carefully Removed

A slow-growing lump near Bella’s ear turned into something much more concerning. Thankfully, her owners trusted their instincts and brought her to our Tauranga clinic before things got worse.

When Bella first visited us, the lump was small but was gradually increasing in size. Vet – Dr. Dana Perry examined it and recommended a course of antibiotics, along with a topical Neosoothe ointment, to keep it comfortable. At first, things seemed manageable, but over time, the lump became ulcerated, smelly, and painful.

After a chat with our team about the best next steps, Bella’s owners made the decision to have the lump surgically removed. Vet – Dr. Sonia McCawe performed the procedure under full general anaesthesia. Everything went smoothly, and we were able to remove the entire growth without complication.

At Bella’s post-op check-up, the area along her head and behind her ear had healed beautifully. Even better, she was back to her usual happy self, with no signs of discomfort or infection. Her owners were thrilled with her progress—and so were we!
