Tauranga Vets’ clinic on Cameron Rd has been recognised as one of the best veterinary clinics in New Zealand. The clinic was awarded Best Practice accreditation by the New Zealand Veterinary Association in 2014 following an extensive voluntary audit of its staff, facilities and management policies.

Our new accreditation status is proof the clinic ticks all the right boxes when it comes to providing animals with professional veterinary care of the highest standard.

Best Practice is New Zealand’s only quality assurance programme that ensures a high standard of service and professionalism for veterinary clinics and hospitals. It’s modelled on best practice overseas standards and adapted to suit the New Zealand veterinary environment.

Veterinary clinics like ours test themselves against these standards in an auditing process undertaken by the New Zealand Veterinary Association. The audit takes into account a clinic’s quality of service and animal care, professional development for staff, facilities, record-keeping and medicine management.

Veterinary practice in New Zealand is governed by very strict rules and veterinarians operate within a highly controlled legal and ethical environment. Best Practice accreditation is only awarded to clinics and hospitals that follow the rules and offer pet owners the best standard of veterinary care at all times.

The Tauranga Vets’ clinic was purpose-built to Best Practice standards in 2011. The spacious building features full surgical facilities, a modern ventilation system which benefits both clients and their pets and convenient off-street parking.

Accreditation also means our clients can take comfort from the fact our information and data systems have been shown to meet top industry standards and that any medication we dispense is clearly labelled and packaged.

We’re delighted to be able to give our valued clients the assurances they seek when choosing us to care for their animals.
