Zion’s fractured pelvis

Zion initially came to see us in October at our Te Puna clinic after an unknown injury fractured his pelvis.

The fracture can affect both his normal function and also result in severe constipation issues later in life if the pelvic canal remains narrowed.

Zion was then referred to our Tauranga clinic, where Dr Max repaired the right-sided sacroiliac fracture with a screw, a tight window to obtain enough bone to secure the screw without entering the spinal canal or going into the pelvic canal.

Two weeks on, and Zion’s pelvis is healing well, and he is walking around as a very happy kitty!
