Willow’s Itchy Hot Spot Gets Fast Relief

When Willow developed an itchy, smelly hot spot under her ear, her usually cheerful personality faded. But with the right treatment and a bit of time, she was soon feeling herself again.

Two-year-old Labrador Willow arrived at the clinic with an inflamed hot spot beneath her right ear. She was clearly uncomfortable, and the area was red and sore.

Vet – Dr Nina Bos prescribed antibiotics and steroids straight away. The next day, Willow came in for sedation so the team could safely clip and clean the area. That’s when they saw just how severe the hot spot had become.

Vet – Dr Nina Bos added Neosoothe—a local anaesthetic and anti-inflammatory cream—to her treatment, and Willow’s owner continued applying it at home alongside her medications.

The healing process wasn’t instant, but day by day, Willow improved. Within a week, she was back to her tail-wagging, happy self.
